2012 SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Undergraduate Scholarship Programs of the Department of Science and Technology implemented by the Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) are open yearly to talented and deserving students who wish to pursue 4- or 5- year courses in priority science and technology fields. The RA 7687 Scholarships and the Merit Scholarships both aim to produce and develop high quality human resources who will man the Science and Technology (S&T) and Research Development (R&D) efforts in the country.

With the fast-paced advancement of technology and the increasing demands of globalization, there is a need to increase the pool of expertise in S&T. Through the S&T Scholarships, DOST-SEI helps contribute in providing human resources that will beef up attainment of the national R&D priority thrusts. Thus, the 2012 S&T Undergraduate Scholarships are now open to qualified secondary senior students. High school graduates who have not undertaken any college units may also apply. Application forms and scholarship brochures can be obtained at the Science Education Institute, 2/F Science Heritage Building, DOST Compound, Bicutan, Taguig City; DOST Regional Offices; Provincial Science and Technology centers (PSTC) or Offices of the Congressmen and Senators.

Privileges include tuition and other school fees, monthly stipend, book allowance, and other benefits. For more information, you may contact us here.

Qualifiers for the 2012 DOST-SEI Scholarships will be notified by mail sometime in April 2012. If an applicant does not receive any notice by that time, it means he/she did not qualify for the RA 7687 Scholarships or the DOST-SEI Merit Scholarships for the year 2012.

The qualifiers for the 2012 OWWA's Education for Development Scholarship Program will be notified accordingly by OWWA.

The scholarship to be awarded shall be based on the performance in the examination held last 20 November 2011.

The selection of the scholarship awardees, after approval of the DOST Secretary, is final and is NOT appealable.
